Choosing the Right Board
BWR vs BWP
BWR (Boiling Water Resistant) plywood handles humidity and occasional splashes, which suits most kitchen and furniture work. BWP (Boiling Water Proof) and marine grades are made for areas with regular water contact, such as under sinks or in bathrooms.
Plywood or MDF?
Plywood is stronger, holds screws better and copes with moisture more reliably. MDF gives a smoother surface for paint and laminate finishes. Many kitchens combine both: plywood where strength and water resistance matter, MDF or UV boards for visible shutters.
Plywood Questions
What is the difference between BWR and BWP plywood?
BWR is water resistant and suits most interior and kitchen work. BWP is water proof and is the better choice for areas with regular water contact, such as sink units and bathrooms.
Is marine plywood the same as BWP?
Marine plywood is a water-proof grade intended for continuous moisture exposure. Tell us where the board will be used and we will recommend the right grade.
Which plywood is best for kitchen cabinets?
BWR plywood is a common choice for kitchen carcasses. For the sink unit, BWP or marine plywood gives better protection against water.
